I’m Ted Lang.

For the last 22 years I have been creating websites, mostly for small to medium businesses but also for larger han_5299-morecontrstandbrightnessorganizations of just about every kind. This has meant being involved in just about every aspect of website use,
including design work, planning, consulting with business owners to define and structure their site, creating custom applications for the web, managing servers and maintaining sites,and also marketing those sites.

Over the last few years my business has evolved to the point where I now do as much Internet marketing consulting as I do actual web development.During that time, I’ve come to see that many businesses struggle to create a successful website. This is for a number of reasons. Sometimes it’s because a website is not designed and planned carefully. Sometimes it’s because a website is not marketed adequately. There are a number of reasons why a website can be less successful than it’s owner intended.

So, I have finally decided to put those 22 years of experience to work on this site and try to help business owners, marketing people, webmasters, and entrepreneurs create a better online presence.

You might think it strange to find an “About you” heading on an “About me” page. But you are and I are in this together. So I would like to tell you who I think you are, too. Who I hope you are is someone who realizes that a website, correctly done, can have a significant impact on his or her business, organization, or career. And, you are charged with making that happen. You may be a “Newbie”, just getting into the creation of websites, you may be a business owner, or you may be a seasoned pro who has been working on the web for a long time. But, you probably realize that every aspect of the online world is changing rapidly and dramatically, especially the technology that makes it more valuable.

This creates a certain burden. It’s difficult, if not impossible, for one person to keep pace with all this dramatic change. With that in mind, I hope you are here to learn more about how to improve your website sales by better planning, better design, better development, better maintainenance, and, especially, better Internet marketing. Our ultimate purpose is to help you create greater sales and a better bottom line. Your website should be a true profit center, not just an expense.

I have set up BetterWebsiteSales.com in order to bring you tools, tips, techniques, strategies, and some very practical, hands-on, how-to advice – all designed to create better sales and better profitt.

Tthe focus of this site is on sales and marketing. I consider this to be most important. If everything else is done right, but the marketing of your website is not done well, then, all of the effort you expend in designing and building your site probably won’t pay off. Marketing is key.

Along the way I hope to share some of the things I’ve learned, some of the techniques that are common, state-of-the-art,successful methods being used today. And, maybe, even some of the blunders I’ve encountered in my 22 years in website development and Internet marketing.  Not to mention another 35 years starting, managing, and marketing several of my other businesses.
